While marquee activities like excursions to amusement parks, adventure parks, science centers, museums, and zoos often steal the spotlight—captivating both teenagers and their parents—it’s the daily activities that truly set Summer@CIP apart. These experiences foster Social Skills, Independent Living Skills, and the ability to navigate career and college paths, making them a key draw for parents. Recognizing this strong interest, we’re offering a sneak peek into the daily schedules of past Summer@CIP programs.

 

Below are actual Daily Schedules from previous Summer@CIP Orlando, FL - UCF programs.

(Note: While the core structure and activities of each summer program remain consistent, certain activities may be modified or adjusted from year to year).

 

DAY #1 - Arrival Day Sunday July 9th (Orlando, FL - UCF)

3:00 pm  Students & Parents Arrive & Move into rooms with parents and unpack

4:00 pm  Family Welcome Session / Student Welcome

4:45 pm  Parents/Students Goodbyes

5:30 pm  Dinner @ UCF

6:30 pm  Introductions - Ice Breakers

  • Handbook & Emergency Plan & Drill
  • Roommate Expectations and Relationships
  • Cell Phone List and Programming of Cell Phone

7:30 pm  Social Games

Day #2 Monday July 10th - Aspire To Be A College Student

7:30 am  Wake up & Shower

8:15 am  Breakfast @ UCF

9:00 am  Morning Meet-up

9:30 am  Introduction: Introduction to academics -- “What to expect”

Lesson: High School vs. College, Organization for Success, & Note Taking

10:00 am  Activity:  Tour of college campus (2 hour UCF Guided Tour)

12:15 pm  Lunch @ UCF

1:45 pm  Introduction: How to set goals Lesson: Long term vs. short term goal plans

Activity: “Ready, Set, Goals!” →Smart Goals, Three Goals for the Program

5:30 pm  Dinner @ UCF

6:45 pm  Activity: Arcade Monsters

9:15 pm  End of Day Reflections:

Day #4 Wednesday July 12th - Aspire To Be Financially Secure (and a day at Universal Studios!)

9:30 am  Introduction: Introduction to Budgeting Lesson: Wants Vs. Needs, Spending Habits, & Pinching Pennies

1:00 pm  Lunch @ Universal Studios

8:00 pm Shower & relaxation
