CIP's Global Engagement Winter Trip 2022: Paris, Provence, Barcelona!

CIP staff and students are Europe-bound for this year’s annual Global Engagement Winter Trip! Now entering its second decade, CIP’s Program for Global Engagement provides an excellent opportunity for our students to broaden their horizons, practice their newfound skills, and learn about other cultures in a safe, supervised environment. A total of 33 staff and students hailing from each of our five Centers, will bring their aspiration to be adventurous along as they board their plane in New York City on their way to their first stop of Paris, France.

CIP's Program for Global Engagement was developed by CIP as an exciting and educational staff-led travel experience during the mid-term winter break with a mission and vision to introduce students to new cultural experiences in a well-rounded, immersive yet supportive and safe adventure while practicing their CIP-informed strategies and interacting with new CIP peers. The program is equally rewarding to staff and directors as a chance-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow leadership skills in an inventive, cutting-edge academic environment.

This year, our group will be spending 10 days and 9 nights traveling and exploring Paris, Provence, and Barcelona. Planned highlights include: Champs-Élysées, Arc De Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Hôtel des Invalides, Louvre, Dali Museum, Versaille, Nîmes Amphitheater, La Sagrada Família, and the Barcelona Cathedral. Past Global Engagement adventures have seen CIP staff and students traveling to Jamaica, Costa Rica, Belize, Italy, Spain, Japan, Ecuador, England, Scotland, and Costa Rica.

“Students experience a unique multicultural environment at each destination. They discover new friends with common interests outside of their local CIP community. International travel provides a means for developing intercultural competencies, expansion of communication skills and building students' expressive and receptive language abilities; by giving students and staff access to world-class experiences that aspire world travelers.” - Kayla Cherry, Life Skills & Wellness Coordinator & Trip Leader

CIP students and staff also have the opportunity to travel within their own communities as well as in the broader United States throughout the full-year program year.
