Where Are They Now? Alumni Spotlight: Eric S.

Eric grew up in Chatham, New Jersey, and attended a residential high school in Southeast Pennsylvania. He decided to attend CIP immediately after graduating from high school. As a student at CIP Berkshire, Eric earned a certificate in Culinary Arts at Berkshire City College and volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. Eric attended CIP’s Berkshire program for 3 years.

He was recently employed at Credit Suisse in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina where he served as a compliance analyst and monitored personal trading account activity. Prior to Credit Suisse, he worked for two years as a financial advisor at Prudential where he helped ensure employees follow firm procedures in trading stocks and advising clients of their best options for retirement.

Eric is currently living in Raleigh Durham and is working toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Accounting at The University of Massachusetts.

Regarding his experience at CIP, Eric feels the staff there helped him see different perspectives and learn to live independently. He appreciates CIP even more now as he looks back on his experience. Eric commented, “CIP provided me with social opportunities as I was put in situations where I could make new friends and adapt to different situations easier than when I first arrived at CIP.”

When asked what advice he has for someone considering programs like CIP, Eric shared  “Don’t take the opportunities at CIP for granted. You can get the most out of the program if you work towards your goals and take advantage of what CIP offers.”

Eric is currently looking for new job opportunities in the compliance field. He would enjoy living in Dallas or Denver but is open to any new opportunities and locations. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cookouts, and bowling in his local leagues.
