Long Beach, CA - CIP Long Beach has launched Mploy, a new employment readiness program for young adults age 18-26 with autism and other learning differences. The inaugural program will be offered January 3-13, 2016 with housing aboard the Queen Mary ship in Long Beach, CA. The curriculum will be based on the career skills development and life skills training currently offered at CIP’s comprehensive year-round programs. Mploy is designed for young adults who are interested in entering the workforce and transitioning to independent living.

During the 10-day program, participants will reside in rooms on board the historic Queen Mary ship in downtown Long Beach. Participants will visit with representatives from Fortune 1000 companies including Disneyland and the Hollywood Bowl, and ask questions about the application process and possible employment opportunities. The Mploy program has prearranged meetings with HR departments in order to get an inside look at what companies are looking for when hiring employees.

Participants will take part in at least two community service projects and a variety of fun activities in a supportive environment that provides 24/7 staffing and support. any opportunities to socialize and develop lasting friendships will be offered throughout the 10-day experience.

The program cost is $3,950 which covers room and board, activities, airport pick and drop-off (if needed), and one college credit. Space is limited.
