Press-Enterprise: Riverside Group Has Idea to Find Jobs for Disabled Young Adults – Create Its Own

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 7.6 percent of Riverside County residents and 7.5 percent of San Bernardino County residents under age 65 have some type of disability.

In part because of sobering statistics about employment for disabled adults, there is a program based in Massachusetts that helps high school graduates with autism spectrum disorder make the difficult transition to higher education and the workforce. Called the College Internship Program, the program operates five centers in the U.S., including one in Long Beach.
